Who is AAHA and what does this mean?
The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is the organization that accredits veterinary practices in the U.S. and Canada. Nearly 60% of pet owners believe their veterinary hospital is accredited when it is not. In fact, only 12-15% of veterinary hospitals in the United States and Canada are AAHA-accredited.
What does this mean for me and my pet?
It means that our hospital holds itself to a higher standard and that your pet is receiving care at a hospital that has achieved the highest standards in veterinary care. AAHA sends consultants every three years to evaluate us on our adherence to the AAHA Standards of Accreditation, including approximately 900 different standards of veterinary care.
